When regular charcoal is treated with gases it expands which creates millions of pores on the small charcoal particles. What this does is creates almost a suction cup effect where toxins stick to the porous surface, almost like how dust sticks to a Swiffer. The charcoal helps relieve acne, skin irritations and it is also amazing for reducing skin related bacterial and fungal infections.
There are several things you can do with activated charcoal powder, use it in your body scrub, a face mask, and even for brushing your teeth.
We usually recommend utilizing it as a face mask, which is super easy to do. You just scoop some into a bowl, add water (or another liquid base like coconut oil) and mix them together. It should create a black looking paste. Spread this on your face, avoiding the eye area, and wait until it is completely dry then wash off. Moisturize afterwards.
Activated Charcoal powder could potentially discolor certain bathroom surfaces, such as marble. So, be aware of the surfaces you are prepping the mask on.
